What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a drugless, non-invasive manual medicine. It is both a science and an art. It is a complete philosophy and a System of treatment.

Treatment employs adjustment of the body through the musculoskeletal system to bring balance and health to the nerves, arteries, veins and lymphatics; thus promoting the self-healing and self-regulating faculties of the human body.

How can Osteopathy help?

Osteopathy places great emphasis on the body's ability to recover spontaneously when it is given the opportunity and freedom necessary.

Because Osteopathy treats people and not diseases, causes and not symptoms; it is not always possible to say 'Osteopathy can help with this and not that'. However, Osteopathy can often find new avenues for progress when other systems have failed, or when diagnosis has created a label, but not provided a solution to the problem. An osteopathic assessment is required in every case.

The scope of Osteopathy is not limited to specific conditions, body parts or techniques. It is dependent on the resources of each Osteopath, and the patient's motivation.
